Strawberry Papaya Smoothie
Good morning everyone! Today I like to share with you one of my favorite smoothies I make and why it’s beneficial. As you all know I am pregnant, currently at 18 weeks (in my second trimester) and I love to drink smoothies. I make them in my nutri-bullet. By the way it’s probably one of the BEST kitchen appliance investments I have ever made. I use this bad boy at least 3 times a week! My money was definitely well spent. Not only it’s a great product, it makes great smoothies! So today, I have for you a strawberry papaya smoothie with a hint of ginger for a little zing!
Sometimes I can be a super health freak and today was one of those days. Especially now that I am pregnant I have come across times where having a bowel movement can be difficult (Sorry guys, a bit TMI here). And instead of taking stool softeners which I refuse to take any I have been incorporating super foods into my diet intake. Strawberries, papaya, banana and ginger are all super foods. Strawberries are full of antioxidants, papaya has vitamins B and C, bananas are full of potassium it helps with leg cramps because of its nutrients and ginger which gives you a boost of energy and helps with nausea. All of these are great for the digestive system and a great source of fiber.
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana ½ golden apple 1 c frozen strawberries 1 hawaiian papaya 1 ½ c of coconut 1 thumb size ginger
Directions:
Put all of the ingredients into the nutri-bullet container (or your blender) and let it all blend together for a good 30 – 60 seconds. Once done, pour into a glass cup and enjoy.
This recipe was simple, healthy and easy. Now who doesn’t love that?
Enjoy!
XOXO Elaine
